2. A Farewell meeting was arranged on 10-10-2014 by the Biotechnology Association to bid adieu to the seniors.Students cherished memories about the department, teachers and friends. Variety of entertainment programmes and lunch had also arranged.
1. Biotechnology Department Association was inaugurated on 24-10-2014 by Dr.M.Anil Kumar, Assistant professor, U.C College, Aluva. Dr.Anil Kumar gave an elaborate lecturer on Biotechnology P.G. Programme. it's scope and future aspects. He shared his own experiences at research and teaching level. He also gave a clear narration of various competitive exams in biotechnology and how to prepare for the same. The talk was informative and fruitful to the student community.

3. The association arranged a welcome meeting to the newcomers on 24-10-2014. Seniors had arranged various entertainment programmes and games to the juniors. Newcomers actively participated in all the events. Teachers gave the necessary instructions.
4. As a part of association activities, an industrial visit was arranged on 04-12-2014 to the Synthite Industries, Kadayirippu, Kolenchery. It is the largest oleoresin extraction firm in the world and contributes 50% of India's export in the spice oleoresin market. We visited solvent extraction plants, CO2 extraction plant and continuous process reactors. We got an elaborative explanation of process cdetails by the staff accompanied us.
Department of Biotechnology organised a free eye camp for PG students in association with MOSC Medical College, Kolenchery on 30th January 2015. Dr.Sudha K ( HOD, Biotechnology Dept) welcomed the team. Dr. Emil Edwin, Mr.Rafeek P.V (Optometrist), Ms.Chinnu Elias, Mr.Arun Abraham ( Final B.Sc Optometrist students) of MOSC Medical College lead the camp.Students of various PG departments in the college, office staffs and teachers attended the camp. The camp was helpful and informative to the college community.
5. Biotechnology Association arranged a scientific lecture on the topic Fishery technology by Dr.Saly N Thomas, Principal Scientist, Fishing Technology Division, CIFT, Cochin and CSIR UGC orientation class by Mr.Kiran Kumar, Research World, Ernakulam on 26-03-2015.
